Does anyone know if Jean Passannte and her writing team returned to ATWT after the writers strike? I watch the show online and the writers are not listed in the credits anymore. They used to be prior to the strike. Has her material started airing yet? If she has returned, I hope she can clear up this Luke/Noah/Ameera mess and get Nuke back together!

I know what you mean! It IS a mess!

But the Ameera stuff doesn't bother me because I know that the essence of drama is conflict, and any drama writer who writes a romantic storyline for a soap focuses on the obstacles, trials, and challenges which keep the lovers apart. Almost all love stories are really "obstacle stories". Otherwise, a couple would simply come together and be happy-- which would make for very boring television. :)

So, I understand the love triangle, because that is the current "obstacle" that strings us along. The writers intentionally frustrate the audience by keeping the couple apart. If it weren't Ameera, it would be something else, because to frustrate the lovers is a dramatic necessity.

What DOES bother me are those actions by Luke and Noah themselves which seem inconsistent with character, or inconsistent with the emotional situation itself, as I have mentioned in the "Wake up Writers- It doesn't Ring True" thread. There have been several things which just don't add up (to me, anyway).

I wish they would go back to the good old days when soaps ran good old FULL SCREEN credits at least once or twice a week. I've always thought that DARK SHADOWS was very classy in that respect in it's heyday-- they ran actor credits every day, and full crew credits at least once a week. Nowadays, they make the credits so tiny as they try to snag the viewer for the next show. It's really tacky, but they all seem to do it.

I don't really mind the triangle with Ameera, I just think it would be better had they brought another man in the triangle instead of a woman! That would have made it more interesting!

Yes, I agree. To have Noah get involved with a woman (IF he does get involved with Ameera) would muddy the waters, since he seems (and claims) to have resolved his personal sexual confusion.

I hope that if Ameera puts the moves on him he will remain loyal to Luke. If not, what are we to think? That he was really bi all along?

I would rather see the writers portray L&N as a couple, facing their own problems and obstacles, and the prejudice of others (which is still a very real problem in many parts of the country), rather than to do the old "does-he-or-doesn't-he?" thing with Noah, and plunge us back into confusion as to Noah's true sexual preference.

And I'm REALLY going to be ticked off if the producers give Noah and Ameera a racy bedroom scene after Luke and Noah haven't even been able to kiss!!! (LOL)

She returned to work in early February. We should be seeing her name in the credits soon.

I hope they resolve the Ameera thing without ruining the purity of Luke and Noah. Like the night before the marriage is suppose to end or something like that he gives in or she tricks him somehow. Noah loves Luke but after all he is human.
