I hope that after the Noah-Luke storyline climaxes they will remain on the show as an "everyday" gay couple and integrate into the show long-term. Right now, their story seems to be on the back burner, only appearing once or twice a week. But I know that eventually the writers will bring it to the front burner, and it will climax in some probably sensational way, as soap storylines usually do. But after that, I hope they don't just send Noah and Luke off into the sunset, to live in the big city, and send the actors off to new jobs when contract renewal time comes. That seems to happen many times after "hot" characters/storylines play out. Everyone just moves on, and the whole hoopla ends up just a memory. Instead, how great it would be if the couple STAYED ON in Oakdale long term, continuing to address the ongoing issues of gay marriage, gay adoption, and ----of course---- encountering gay prejudice (as still happens CONTINUALLY in most areas of our country (hope the writers in open-minded NYC don't forget that, LOL!!). Have there been any rumors or scuttlebutt as to the long term prospects of Luke and Noah? Wouldn't it be wonderful if ---20 years from now--- they were still on the show and still together as 40-somethings, having weathered the storms of life together (and maybe a few affairs or attractions, as happens in soaps, LOL)---- and come through it all as a still-committed couple, about to celebrate their 20th anniversary?! That would be so much nicer than the usual quick goodby after the storyline ends. It would be so much nicer than just remembering the characters, all the hoopla, and the "gay storyline" as a flash-in-the-pan attention-getter that couldn't be sustained! I really hope the writers will write to that end, and that the producers will do what it takes to keep the actors, in order to keep Noah and Luke as a long-term, ongoing, and developing part of Oakdale's history.
