Yesterday's episode (and some other things) just don't ring true to me at all. :-( In the first scene, Luke objects to Noah's rebuff of Luke's attempted public display of affection, making it clear that he "doesn't want to go back in the closet". Yet, oddly, a few moments later, when Noah comes up with his "plan" for Luke to continue to pose as Casey's boyfriend, Luke goes along with that plan VERY enthusiastically. To me, this seems extremely out of character for Luke. I can understand Luke's blurting out claiming to be Casey's boyfriend in front of the agent, and I understand that Luke was enjoying teasing Casey goodnaturedly at the table ----- but for Luke to so enthusiastically go along with Noah's deceptive closet-like "plan" after so many instances of being clearly ticked off at not being able to be an open couple with Noah, (and especially after just having make the remark about "going back in the closet" in the earlier scene) just does NOT ring true to me AT ALL. Anyone else notice this (or am I just being too picky, LOL)? Another problem overall recently: I find it very odd that there has been NO real significant *private* display of affection between Luke and Noah (kissing, cuddling...whatever) during this time when they have had to put on an "act" pubicly. This does not ring true to the characters, to me. In other words, I would think that Noah would be going out of his way to be ESPECIALLY affectionate to Luke *in private* (at the farm) in order to try to make it up to him that they have to put on "the act" in public. However, Noah seems to be making NO effort in this regard, even though he continues to SAY that he loves Luke. I suppose this latter problem is perhaps just another example of the producers' seeming reluctance to have Luke and Noah kiss or be affectionate .... but again, this rings very untrue to me for the characters, because I would think that --if they are a couple in love-- Noah would be going WAAAAAAY out of his way to be ESPECIALLY affectionate in private (kisses, hugs, loving touches, etc) in order to make up for the public "distancing" .... yet we don't get ANY sense of that from Noah at all. Well, just a few gripes for the writers, I guess. :-) Robert "getreal" |

I thought all the characters were all over the map on Monday's show. I'm trying to take the good and enjoy it and hope more blanks will be filled in once the regular writers return (pipe dream I know). Characters in most of the stories can change from scene to scene. I'm with you on the lack of affection. I don't expect Queer as Folk type backroom sex, but it does take away from the story to not see kiss on occasion when it makes sense. |

I don't understand the no kiss stance either. ATWT has said that they want to make this "real," but how can you have a "real" gay romance if you don't show kissing. If this doesn't improve, ATWT is going to lose this viewer. |

I with you on the private time. I think they do kiss and hug and cuddle but we just aren't seeing it, which is a real shame if you aske me. |

April 10 COMMENTS --- I didn't really understand why our boys seemed so upset in the final part of today's ep (April 10 - when they were suprised by the agent's knock at the door with shirts off in the bedroom), as Luke stormed off saying "I just can't do this". What I mean is this: it is perfectly logical for Luke to be visiting Noah and Ameera-- as a friend of the couple. So what if the agent finds him inside? Even if Ameera were not home, it wouldn't be unreasonable for Luke to be visiting Noah. They ~could~ even be working on a school project or research paper together. I understand their frustration at being "interrupted" (ahem) in the bedroom as they looked forward to their first real moments of privacy, but I DON'T understand the feeling of total exasperation that they seemed to display in the later scenes. After all, as long as the windows are covered, they could have GONE BACK to the bedroom after the agent and Cody had left. Ameera could have had a nice cup of coffee in the kitchen, or watched a good movie for a while. :-) Their being together unobserved just doesn't seem THAT unworkable to me. Just because they happened to be suprised by an agent THIS TIME, is no reason to leave in a huff (which is inconsistent for Luke to do anyway since, as pointed out in the posts above, he has consented most enthusiastically to the ruse all along). There I go criticizing again, LOL. On the positive side, it was good to finally see the boys again after four or five "no nuke" episodes!! Robert getreal |

I don't understand Luke's reaction either. But it was nice to see them at least have a brief moment of closeness. |

Yes, sometimes I (*jokingly!*) think that in the end Luke will be revealed to have a multiple personality and Noah will be revealed to be straight after all, or bi, LOL. I say this because Luke's reactions so often do not seem reasonable, and Noah so often does not seem to show much respect for Luke's feelings (which you'd expect from someone truly in love). I wonder if things would ring a bit more true if the actors themselves were gay. I have nothing in principle against straight actors playing gay, or gay playing straight (they are, after all, ACTORS!). But in situations like these where things just aren't ringing true, one can't help but wonder if the same thing would be happening if the actors were gay (assuming, of course, that they are allowed to have input on the set--- it may be that they are just strictly required to play exactly what the writers have written. Maybe it's the writers who need to be gay, LOL!). Robert "getreal" |

I agree with you! I have a theory that Noah will wind up sleeping with Ameera before this is all over with.

I totally didn't get why they didn't kiss yesterday, the knock would have been more dramatic if it would have been in the middle of a kiss, and it would have made perfect sense for it to happen. And dballard, I hope your theory is wrong, although I do find it very possible. If it does happen though Luke needs to open his eyes and find someone else! |
